Opinions, opinions! Like everyone else, I've got some too.
Aaaand, I've got opinions on a lot of different
stuff. So! If you actually care what I may think
on a subject, look below. From time to time I'll post a
rant or something up here.
Games In General Essays
"It's Just
A Game, You Baby!" - October
2004
(Check it out!)
An often heard phrase in RO community: "lol, who cares
if you die/get ksed, lol, its just a game!!!!!!!!"
Unfortunately, it's not so simple. This essay covers things
about games in general, and what griefers are - and why
it's bad to be one.

Private Servers: RO's Agent
Smith - October 2004
(Check it out!)
(Since the time this rant was written,
Gravity's newer artists and programmers have resurrected
some of the ideas and concepts lost to the hacking and piracy
mentioned here. The rest of it is still accurate.)
Private servers are, quite literally, choking Ragnarok Online
to death. Their advocates tend to be very fanatical, and
believe they're fighting some kind of holy war against Gravity
for the good of the entire RO community. In reality, the
private servers are threatening to ruin RO for all of us.
Find out why.
Dead Branching Towns and
Spawn Points - November 2003
(Check it out!)
(This rant is outdated now that
iRO has the anti-town DB patch, but went through other forms
of griefing over the years. However, griefing today is nowhere
near the level that it was when this rant was written, but
I feel it still has an important message.)
iRO seems to be unique among the varied services in that
quite a few users enjoy wreaking havoc by gathering as many
branches as they can and causing mayhem in crowded areas.
This essay is about my feelings in dead branches, how they're
used, and why I think it's wrong to be an ass and spam them
in towns/spawn areas.
Bots: Why We Hate 'Em - November 2003
(Check it out!)
Bots have, sadly, been a part of iRO almost since its beginning.
Users who actually play the game have had a lot of
reasons to hate bots -- and while bots have become more
... adventurer friendly in recent times, I still think they're
still an irritation and help to raise hell in the general
community. Why's that? Read it here.
